Assess Your Eligibility
Candidates for PEI Express Entry must be registered in the federal Express Entry system. You must meet the requirements of one of the federal economic immigration programs:

Federal Skilled Trades;
Canadian Experience Class.
The PEI Express Entry Category features two pathways to Canadian permanent residence, one for candidates with a job offer and one for those without. Priority is given to applicants living and working in PEI.
Create a PEI Expression of Interest Profile
Candidate who meet the above requirements must then create a PEI Expression of Interest profile. Your profile is scored against a PEI Expression of Interest points grid and is valid for six months. Profiles are scored on age, language ability, education, work experience, employment and adaptability.
Invitation to Apply
Invitations to apply are issued to the best scoring candidates via draws which take place monthly.
Once invited to apply, a candidate has 60 days to complete and submit a full application.

Candidates invited to apply must complete all federal and provincial application forms and provide supporting documents.
Submit Your Application
Candidates can submit their application with supporting documents in person or through mail. It must also include the $300 application fee.
Submit Your Application For Permanent Residence
Successful applicants are nominated by PEI to the federal government for permanent residence.
You will then be invited to apply for permanent residence by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
Land in Prince Edward Island
If your permanent residence application is successful, you can land in PEI. You must report to the Office of Immigration within 30 days of landing.
This employer driven stream allows skilled workers with an employment offer in PEI to be nominated for Canadian Permanent residence if they meet the following criteria:
A full time employment offer from a Prince Edward Island business in an occupation classified as skill level “0”, “A” or “B” of the National Occupational Classification (NOC);
Completion of a post-secondary education, with a minimum of 14 years of formal education;
Between 21 and 55 years of age;
At least 2 years of full time work experience in the past 5 years;
Sufficient proficiency in English or French to occupy the employment offered;
Sufficient settlement funds;
Demonstrated intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.
Critical Worker Category
This category is designed to resolve labour shortages and is open to foreign workers already in PEI with employment in specific critical demand occupations. The primary criteria for nomination are:
A full time offer of employment from a Prince Edward Island business in one of the following occupations: Truck driver; Customer service representative; Labourer; Food & beverage server; Housekeeping attendant.
6 months of work experience with the Prince Edward Island business offering employment;
Current valid Canadian work permit;
High school diploma and minimum of 12 years of formal education;
Between 21 and 55 years of age;
At least 2 years of full-time work experience in the past 5 years;
Demonstrate basic proficiency in English or French language;
Sufficient settlement funds;
Demonstrated intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.

To be eligible to apply for the PEI Skilled Worker stream you must:
have a full-time long-term (i.e. permanent or minimum of two years) job offer from a PEI employer in National Occupation Classification (NOC)(link is external) skill level 0, A, or B.(link is external) Important note: Through this stream your employer must receive authorization from our office prior to submitting an expression of interest profile;
have at least two years of full‐time work experience in the past five years;
have legal status in country of residence;
have successfully completed a post‐secondary degree or diploma (minimum two year program);
be between the ages of 18 and 59;
have sufficient English and/or French language ability to perform the job offered. Language ability can be verified by one of the following:
*a language test from an IRCC approved testing institute within the past two years with a minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4; or
* PEIW-02: Workforce Job Offer Form indicating employer is comfortable with the employees proficiency in English and/or French to perform tasks associated with the job position being offered.
have sufficient financial resources for the applicant and family to pay all immigration costs (including travel expenses) to be able to establish in PEI; and

have a post-secondary degree or diploma from a publicly-funded Prince Edward Island institution;
have a full-time, non-seasonal (i.e. permanent or minimum of two years) job offer from a PEI employer;

be able to attend an interview with staff from the Office, if required;
possess sufficient English and/or French language ability to perform the job offered;
be between the ages of 18 and 59;
have sufficient financial resources to pay all immigration costs (including travel expenses) for you and your family to be able to establish in PEI; and
